Pregnancy: Pregnancy is a unique time in a woman's life filled with new experiences and significant physical changes. A woman who is going through this exciting time may notice new areas of stress and tension in their spine. This may lead to back pain and discomfort particularly in the mid to lower back.
Chiropractic care can help relieve discomfort, normalize nervous system functions and help maintain your optimal mobility throughout your entire pregnancy.
Art District Chiropractic will take special precautions with you during your pregnancy by making modifications during each stage of your pregnancy.
Children's Health:
From birth until puberty, bones are continuously growing and adapting to stresses placed upon them. During this time, the nervous system is also developing. It is the child's nervous system that controls their amazing development.
When a bone in your child's spine gets out of normal alignment, nerves may become stretched or pinched. This is called a subluxation of the spine. Chiropractic care is the best hope for a child's nervous system to be free of subluxations. Chiropractic care is a safe and natural way to help children develop to their fullest potential. Athletes: Chiropractic care can help restore function to spinal joints that are injured and not moving properly. Besides helping to relieve pain, chiropractic care can also help reduce inflammation. Soft tissues such as muscles, tendons, and ligaments depend upon proper joint movement for Peak Performance. Injuries to these tissues will limit joint mobility and affect your active lifestyle. The doctors at Art District Chiropractic will not only adjust your spine, but will adjust any misaligned joint in the body including wrists, shoulders, knees and ankles!
Whiplash:
Whiplash is a term most commonly used to describe an injury to the neck when the head is suddenly jerked back and forth beyond its normal limits. This is often associated with an automobile accident or bicycling accident, even when little damage is done to the vehicle or bike. However, this injury may also be sustained by slipping on the ice or falling while water skiing.
As a result, soft tissues such as muscles, discs and ligaments supporting the spine can be overstretched or even torn. Your spinal bones, called vertebrae, can be forced out of their normal position. This may reduce normal range of motion and cause pain with turning or bending your head. The spinal cord and nerve roots in the neck can also get stretched and irritated. The resulting instability and disruption of the spine and soft tissues can result in headaches, dizziness, blurred vision, irritability, short-term memory loss, pain in the shoulder, arms, hands and back. These symptoms may not appear for weeks or even months after an injury.
Immediate chiropractic attention to these injuries may help restore spinal motion, reduce inflammation, and minimize scar tissue build-up.

Plantar Fasciitis:
Plantar Fasciitis is the most common cause of heel pain. The plantar fascia is the flat band of connective tissue. It connects your heel bone to your toes therefore supporting the arch of your foot. If you strain your plantar fascia, it gets weak, swollen, and irritated causing your heel or the bottom of your foot to hurt when you stand or walk. It is especially painful with your first steps in the morning. If this condition progresses, it can cause stress to your heel bone and may result in a heel spur.
The Chiropractors at Art District Chiropractic have experience treating patients with this painful condition. Treatment may consist of joint mobilization, ultrasound therapy, acupuncture, Graston Technique, custom orthotics and exercises for self care.
Migraines:
Migraine headaches are intense and throbbing headaches that are often associated with nausea and sensitivity to light or noise. These migraine headaches can last from as little as a few hours to as long as a few days. Many of those who suffer from migraine headaches experience visual symptoms called an "aura" just prior to an attack that is often described as seeing flashing lights. Numerous research studies have shown that chiropractic adjustments are very effective for treating headaches, especially headaches that originate in the neck.
As a former migraine sufferer, Dr. Lori is passionate about helping patients with this condition. Dr. Lori realizes that each individual's case is different and requires a thorough evaluation before a proper course of chiropractic care can be determined. She will provide you with her findings and offer additional resources such as nutritional guidance and self care instructions.
